Big Deal Privacy Policy
Big Deal is a daily solitaire game for Android, made for adults. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and your choices. We designed the game to need as little data as possible: there are no accounts, no sign-in, no chat, no location access, and the game plays fully offline. We never receive your game progress: it stays on your device (and, if you use Android's own backup, in your own Google account backup; see section 1).
1. Information the app stores on your device
The deals you have played and their results (moves, medals, hints used, restarts), your streak, the deal in progress, your settings and whether you own Remove all ads are saved in a single file inside the app's private storage on your device. We never receive this file and cannot see it. Deleting it is under your control: Settings → Your data → "Delete my data", or uninstall the app (see Delete my data).
Android backup. If backup is turned on for your phone (Android Settings → Google → Backup), Android may include this file in your own Google account backup, so your progress comes back if you reinstall the game or move to a new phone. Only that one file is backed up; nothing else from the app leaves your phone this way. That backup is made by Android and kept by Google under your Google account; we have no access to it. You can turn backup off, or delete backups, in your phone's or Google account's backup settings.
2. Advertising (free version only)
The free version shows a small number of ads through Google AdMob (Google LLC). There are only two places an ad can appear: a rewarded video you can choose to watch for an extra hint (the first hint in each deal is free; further hints are one short, clearly labelled ad each, at most three per deal), and one short, skippable ad between past deals played from the archive, at most once a session. No ad appears inside a deal, on a result screen, or before, during or after today's deal, and there is no banner. To show ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects your device's advertising identifier and app set ID, your IP address (which may be used to estimate your general location), interactions such as app launches, taps and ad views, and performance diagnostics such as app launch time. Google uses this data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, and all of it is encrypted in transit. Google uses this data as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the AdMob data disclosure. The app does not request your device's location and we cap ad content at the "G" rating (suitable for general audiences).
Your choices. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the app asks for your consent before loading ads, using Google's consent framework; you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Help and legal → "Ad privacy options". Elsewhere, you can limit ad personalisation in your Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads) and you can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information under US state laws by using the same in-app privacy options where offered. Buying Remove all ads removes every ad at once; from the next time you open the app, the ads SDK is not started at all.
3. Reminders and ratings
If you turn on the optional daily reminder, Big Deal schedules notifications on your device and asks Android for permission to show them only at that point. Nothing about them is sent to us or anyone else. Turn them off at any time in the app's Settings or in Android's notification settings. The app may also show Google Play's own "rate this game" window once; anything you write there is handled by Google Play under its own policies.
4. Purchases
Remove all ads (Big Deal Plus) is a one-time purchase processed by Google Play Billing. Google provides us with a purchase token and product identifier so the app can unlock it; Google's handling of payment data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. We do not receive your payment details or card data.
5. Leaderboards and sign-in
This version of Big Deal has no sign-in and no leaderboards, and sends nothing to Google Play Games. We may add optional Google Play Games leaderboards in a future update. If we do, signing in will remain your choice, and we will update this policy to describe what is shared before that version is released.
6. Crash and performance data
When the app crashes or hits a serious error, it sends a crash report to Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) so we can find and fix the problem. A report contains the technical details of the error (the code location and error message), the app version, your phone's model, Android version and free memory and storage at the time, and a random Crashlytics installation ID that is not linked to you and changes if you reinstall the app. It contains no game progress, no name, no email and no advertising ID. We use these reports only to keep the game stable; they are kept for 90 days and then deleted by Crashlytics. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.
Google Play may also collect anonymised crash and performance statistics (Android vitals) from devices whose owners have opted into usage and diagnostics sharing, and shares only aggregate reports with us. The ads SDK described in section 2 also collects performance diagnostics such as app launch time.
7. Analytics
The app does not include a separate analytics service. Google AdMob may use the information described in section 2 for analytics about ad performance. If we add an analytics service, we will update this policy before that version is released.
8. Children
Big Deal is made for adults and is listed on Google Play for ages 18 and over. It is not directed to children, or to anyone under the age of digital consent in their country, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the ads SDK, contact us and we will help you have it removed.
9. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell personal information. The only third party that receives data from the app is Google (ads, billing, crash reports and platform diagnostics) as described above. We do not share data with data brokers.
10. Retention
| Data | Where | Retained |
|---|---|---|
| Game progress and settings | Your device; your own Google account backup if Android backup is on | Until you delete it or uninstall; backups as set in your Google account |
| Crash reports | Firebase Crashlytics (Google) | 90 days |
| Advertising data | Google AdMob | Per Google's retention policies |
| Purchase record | Google Play | Per Google Play's policies; needed to restore your purchase |
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, Brazil LGPD, India DPDP), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port personal information, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we hold no personal information about you ourselves, most requests are fulfilled by the in-app controls above; for anything else, email brandemak@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
12. International transfers
Google processes data in the United States and other countries under its own safeguards (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses).
13. Security
The game plays offline; the only network traffic from the app is the ads SDK, Google Play Billing and crash reports, all over HTTPS. The save file lives in the app's sandboxed private storage.
14. Changes
We will post changes here with a new effective date and, for material changes, show a notice in the app.
